Will you be spending Christmas in the kitchen? Whilst some people delight in cooking festive food to perfection, there are others who grimace at the thought of slaving in a hot kitchen!
A lot of pressure is put on a Christmas meal. For example, where shall you eat it ? Who will cook it? We’ve done turkey at Thanksgiving, so should we have a different roast? Can we opt out altogether?
In Egypt a Christmas meal is not eaten until the 6th January and then it is a meal of lamb, rice, garlic and bread. Australians might enjoy a turkey, but they are also known to throw a few shrimps on the barbie. In Italy, they celebrate the Feast Of Seven Fishes and in Slovakia, Perch is central to the celebrations. Indeed, Perch is so important that some families will buy a live one and leave it swimming in the bath until Christmas!
So if Christmas dinner is eaten differently around the world, having a Chinese or indulging in a little sushi would be OK, right? We have done a little research for you and provided eating out options. Whether you are looking for a traditional roast or something a little different, we have you covered. Take your pick.
